Antique Bracket Clocks


Dials of Lymington has a range of genuine antique bracket clocks in the Lymington showroom. All bracket clocks come with a twelve month guarantee and can be delivered Worldwide.

 

Bracket clocks are portable wooden table clocks that were made from the 17th century onwards. The name originated along with the smaller weight driven pendulum clocks (or 'true bracket clocks') that were fixed to the wall using brackets to allow room for the hanging weights. When the later spring-driven clocks were developed, they were still made in the same style as the earlier weight driven bracket clocks, with a decorative shelf.

Mahogany cased, double Fusee bracket clock with brass inlay, by Ladds of Cannon Street, London. The movement is engraved with the name. Striking on the bell, with strike and silent.
